Rosette Tieback

Back view of young girl with long hair standing outside modeling "Rosette Tieback" hairstyle

Festival season is here again!  Beautiful hair goes hand in hand with Festival Season.  Coachella is over but summer is around the corner with all your local festivals!  Today, I decided to share a new Bohemian hairstyle to add to our list of festival options.  I am in love with this pretty Rosette Tieback.  It screams boho, summer, festival and fun!  All you need to know is how to create a regular braid for this hairstyle.  The beauty comes with adding a tieback, pancaking and rolling your braid up.  It is super simple, I know you can do it!To see your own photo recreations of this style featured in our app, feel free to tag your photos on IG with: #CGHRosetteTieback
This hairstyle is perfect for long hair or medium hair.Items Needed: Brush, rat-tail comb, spray bottle, 2 small hair elastics, 4-5 small bobby pins, and hairspray {if desired}.

Time Requirement: 5 minutes

Skill Level: Medium

Step-By-Step Instructions:

  1. I added some wand curls to Kamri’s hair before we started to add texture and softness.
  2. Part your hair down the center.
  3. Pick up two pieces of hair from the front of the head.  You will pick up two pieces and then two more just below them.  The secondary pieces are what you will pull back and secure with a small elastic at the base of the neck.
  4. The first two pieces of hair you picked up will be pulled back and tucked down the inside of your tieback.
  5. Pick up your tieback and begin a regular three strand braid all the way down.
  6. Go back and pancake the outside edge of one side of your braid.
  7. Begin rolling up your braid from the bottom.  Start rolling the opposite direction from the side you pancaked.
  8. Roll up until your flower sits right over your tieback elastic.
  9. Use bobby pins to secure your flower in place.
  10. Finish with hairspray {if desired}.
