Create a Double Fan Bun in Less than 2 Minutes!

So, Brooklyn read all of your comments from a few weeks ago, and brushed up on a hairstyle that she considers her go-to style! Today, Brooklyn will teach us all how to create a Double Fan Bun in less than 2 minutes!

Everyone has them, those mornings when you are running late, or simply just don’t have time to do much with your hair! An obvious choice would be every girls’ option after a ponytail and messy bun… the Fan Bun updo!  This double fan bun is just as easy, and looks much more complicated even though you only spend a minute or so to do it!

This hairstyle makes good use of the ends from the first simple fan bun, by rolling them up and re-tucking them into the elastic and creating another fan bun out of it. It almost looks like a pair of lips!

Actually, when Brooklyn isn’t talking at the same time, as she is in this tutorial, she can do this hairstyle in less than 1 minute! How easy is that?

Brooklyn wears this in the mornings as she has drill team practice, and she says that it holds up very well! I think it looks adorable with a t-shirt and jeans, and it is appropriate for girls of all ages.

Items Needed: Brush, rat-tail comb, spray bottle, 1 large ponytail holder, hairspray {if desired}.

Time Requirement: Less than 2 minutes

Skill Level: Easy

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Begin with the hair pulled up into a high ponytail on the top of your head…
  2. Wrap the hair elastic around your hair twice, and on the last wrap, pull your hair only half-way through the elastic {this will create a giant looped “fan shape” bun on your head}…
  3. Take the ends that are hanging down behind under the elastic, and roll them up over your fingers and then tuck the ends back into the elastic {creating your second fan bun}…
  4. Gently pull/tug  on the front hair near your forehead, to give it a little volume and more shape on top…
  5. You can also gently divide the bun in half and pull them apart to cinch down hair to tighten the bun, then refluff the bun…
  6. Gently pull some free curly strands of hair down right in front of your ears to help frame the hairstyle…
  7. Add hairspray, if desired.
