Summer is here! We are always looking for hairstyles that keep the hair off the neck during those Hot Summer Days! This hairstyle uses a rope twist, 3 strand braid, and a fishtail braid. I love this combo because it has a beautiful, soft boho look!

Items Needed: Brush, rat-tail comb, spray bottle, 2 small hair elastics, hairspray {if desired}.
Time Requirement: 5-7 minutes
Skill Level: Medium
- On the top of your head, comb all the hair back. You don’t want a part line in the hair.
- Pick up a small section of hair above the ear. Divide that section into two pieces and begin a rope twist braid.
- Twist each section to the right and then twist over each other to the left.
- Tug on the edges of your twist a bit to give a soft/loose look to your twist. Secure the end with a small elastic or have your daughter hold the rope twist while you work on the other side.
- Repeat rope twist on opposite side.
- Bring your two twists to the back and secure with an elastic. You want them to rest about the nape of the neck.
- Reach under your twist, pick up all of the remaining hair and divide into 3 pieces. (including the tail of your rope twist)
- Begin creating a loose 3 strand braid. After about 3 complete stitches, switch to a fishtail braid.
- When you reach the end, secure the braid with a small elastic.
- I prefer a loose, puffy braid. So, go back and tug/pancake the edges of your 3 strand & fishtail braid to get a soft, loose look.
- Add hairspray {if desired}.
