Today we have a simple dutch braid combined with a few “toddler proof” tricks to help your hairdo stay in place all day!To see your own photo recreations of this style featured in our app, feel free to tag your photos on IG with: #CGHToddlerCrownBraid
Items Needed: Brush, rat-tail comb, spray bottle, 6 small hair elastics, hairspray {if desired}.
Time Requirement: 3-5 minutes
Skill Level: Easy
Step-By-Step Instructions:
- Start with damp hair. Have hairspray or spray wax ready.
- Part the hair on the side.
- On the heavy side, pick up a small section of hair from the top front.
- Divide into 3 pieces and begin a dutch french braid.
- As you braid, spray your hair with wax or hairspray to help secure your braid.
- Try to keep your braid fairly tight. If you have a wiggly one, give her a movie watch or a game while working on her hair.
- Because toddlers have fine hair and lots of layers, tie your first braid off at about the ear. This is where your bun is going to rest.
- Begin a dutch french braid on the opposite side of the head. Work backward toward your first braid.
- Once you run out of hair to add in, tie off with an elastic. IF the hair is long enough, combine with your first braid and tie off.
- Next, pull your two ponytails together and create a messy bun.
