- Take a small section from the outside of the bottom piece and cross under and add to the top piece.
- Repeat steps 4 & 5 only this time pick up a new small piece of hair and add it to the piece you cross under.
- Keep repeating this process to create a dutch fishtail braid.
- After several stitches go back and pancake the outside edges of your braid.
- Once your braid reaches your ear, stop adding in new hair and continue a regular fishtail for a few extra stitches.
- Secure your braid with a small elastic.
- Go back and pick up the first section of hair you clipped out of the way.
- Divide it into 3 equal pieces and create a regular 3 strand braid all the way down.
- Secure your braid with a small elastic.
- Go back and gently stretch your braid. You don’t want it super tight.
- Bring your remaining hair over and add your fishtail braid to create a side ponytail. Secure with a regular elastic.
- Remove the elastic from the bottom of your fishtail braid. Go back and adjust and fluff your fishtail if needed.
- Take your 3 strand braid and lay it down the center of your fishtail braid and pin in place.
- Secure the braid to your ponytail with a small elastic.
- Remove the extra elastic at the end of your braid.
- Take another small elastic around your ponytail and pull your hair through until you have a small loop.
- Pick up the top of the loop, pull it to the outside and secure with a bobby pin. (you are pulling away from the braided side)
- Take a section just below the top section you just pinned. Pull in the opposite direction (toward your braid) and secure with bobby pins.
- Now pick up the bottom section of the loop and pull away from your braid and secure with bobby pins.
- Adjust any pieces with bobby pins if necessary.
- Pick up your remaining hair and split it into two pieces. Twist the first piece and wrap it up and around your bun. (tug on the edges of your twist to loosen before pinning)
- Secure your twist with bobby pins.
- Repeat steps 25 & 26 with the remaining piece of hair only wrap it around in the opposite direction from the first piece.
- Finish with hairspray. {if desired}
