I’m in love with build-able hairstyles right now. A build-able hairstyle is basically a number of hairstyles that build upon each other.  To get to the second hairstyle, you have to finish the first hairstyle and so on… I really love build-able hairstyles because everyone has days where you start with you hair one way but need to transition the hair quickly later that day. This is a simple way to do that!

I started with a Double Dutch Ponytail…

Items Needed: Brush, rat-tail comb, bobby pins, small hair elastics, hairspray {if desired}.

Time Requirement: 3-5 minutes

Skill Level: Easy

Step-By-Step Instructions:

  1. Gather a small section of hair on the heavy side of your part. Split the hair into 3 sections and create a dutch braid all the way back to the nape of your neck.  Secure with a clear elastic. (Dutch braid tutorial here.)
  2. Give your braid some heavy pancaking for fullness and texture!
  3. Repeat steps 1-2 on the other side of your head.
  4. When you are ready to secure the second braid, combine it with the first braid at the nape of the neck and secure together with a clear elastic.
  5. To finish your ponytail, take a small section from the underneath side of the ponytail and wrap it around your elastic. Secure with a bobby pin.
  6. Style #2:  simply add a fishtail braid to your ponytail and secure with an elastic. (Fishtail tutorial here.)
  7. Style #3: take the end of your fishtail and twist it under, pull it up and tuck it right above your ponytail elastic.
  8. Secure with bobby pins. Give your fishtail a little fluff and you are good to go!

This is my favorite one i love that its a combination of a bun and a braid i have since seen this tried it on my hair and i love it its perfect for when you are gong out for dinner of it can even be used casually so its one the can be dressed up or down so thank you for introducing me to this hairstyle i love it and will most definitely be doing it more.
