Today, Bailey is here to share a really cute DIY hairstyle for short hair. Yes, you can create an amazing updo with short hair!To see your own photo recreations of this style featured in our app, feel free to tag your photos on IG with: #CGHRolledUpdo. This hairstyle is great for teen girls. It would be beautiful for formal events or for an easy everyday look.Items Needed: Brush, rat-tail comb, spray bottle, 1 small rubber band, 5-6 small bobby pins, hairspray {if desired}.
Time Requirement: 3-5 minutes
Skill Level: Easy
Step-By-Step Instructions:
- Part the hair as desired. Bailey chose a side part.
- Brush your hair back and place into a low ponytail. Secure with a small elastic.
- Place your finger in the middle just above the ponytail. Pull gently to create a hole so you can flip your ponytail up and then back down through your hole.
- Pull on your ponytail a little to tighten the rubber band.
- Pick up the ends and lift up like you are going to flip again. Tuck the hair all inside your roll so you have what looks like a roll going across the back. Secure with bobby pins.
- At this point your side might have loosened and look a little funny. Simply roll and tuck in the back and secure with bobby pins. (shown in video)
- Go back and pull out wispies or bangs in the front to frame your face.
- Lightly curl your bangs or wispies.
- Finish with hairspray {if desired}.
